The affairs of Mount Shepherd Retreat Center shall be under the guidance and supervision of a Board of Directors, consisting of not less than 14 persons and not more than 21 persons.  At least 2/3 of the board members shall be members of the United Methodist Church.

THE PURPOSE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SHALL BE:

• To encourage the use of the facilities and property at Mount Shepherd Retreat Center by United Methodists and other groups, families and individuals.
• To develop programs for the enhancement of Christian commitment, fellowship and faith.
• To develop programs of environmental awareness and practices toward stewardship of God’s creation.
• To acquaint local churches with the Retreat Center as a place for wholesome recreation, spiritual renewal and fellowship.

Mount Shepherd's board members share their gifts of money, time, and expertise. Those who serve are expected to help strengthen Month Shepherd's development and governmental structure as well as contribute their own money and seek financial funding from others. Also, Board members are expected to be active in the programs and events at Mount Shepherd.
